1. International Mother Tongue Day- 

International Mother Language Day or IMLD is an observance held annually on 21 February worldwide 
to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism. It was first announced by UNESCO on 17 November 1999. Its observance was also formally recognized by the United Nations General Assembly in its resolution establishing 2008 as the International Year of Languages.


2. Central Excise Tax Day- 


Central Excise Day is celebrated all over India on 24th. February every year.The Central Board of 
Excise and Custom  is the nodal national agency responsible for administering Customs, Central Excise, Service Tax & Narcotics in India. The Customs & Central Excise department was established in the year 1855 by the then British Governor General of India, to administer customs laws in India and collection of import duties / land revenue. It is one of the oldest government 
departments of India.

Currently the Customs and Excise department comes under the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance. 
The agency is staffed by IRS officers who start their careers as Assistant Commissioners in the field and within 20–25 years rise to the post of Chief Commissioners, with a few senior most officers who become Members of CBEC / CESTAT / Settlement Commission.

3. National Science Day- 


National Science Day is celebrated in India on 28 February each year to mark the discovery of the 
Raman effect by Indian physicist Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman on 28 February 1928.For his discovery, Raman was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930.
