List of some national (India) and International Days of January

1.       Louis Braille Day– 4th January is celebrated as Louis Braille Day. He was a French educator and inventor of a system of reading and writing for use by the blind or visually impaired. His system remains known worldwide simply as braille.

2.       National Youth Day- National Youth Day is celebrated in India on 12 January on the birthday of Swami Vivekananda. In 1984 the Government of India declared the day as the National Youth Day and since 1985 the event is celebrated in India every year.

3.       Indian Army Day- Army Day is celebrated on 15 January every year in India, in recognition of Lieutenant General (later Field Marshal) K. M. Cariappa's taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army from General Sir Francis Butcher, the last British Commander-in-Chief of India, on 15 January 1949.

4.    23rd January- NETAJI SUBHAS CHANDRA’S BIRTHDAY ANN./ NATIONAL DAY OF PATRIOTISM / DESH PREM DIVAS

5.       Rashtriya Balika Diwas- Rashtriya Balika Diwas is a day dedicated towards the welfare of the girl child in India. The day is observed on 24th January every year.

6.       India Tourism Day- Celebrated on 25 January.

7.       International Customs Day- International Customs Day (ICD) is celebrated every year by the custom organizations on 26 January.

8.       Republic Day(India)- 26 January.

9.       Martyr Day- 30th January

10.   National Cleanliness Day-  30th January
