8. List-of-Human-diseases-caused-by-Viruses: A virus is a small infectious agent that replicates only inside the living cells of other organisms. Viruses in animals can be carried by blood-sucking insects. These disease-bearing organisms are known as vectors. Influenza viruses are spread by coughing and sneezing. Norovirus and rotavirus, common causes of viral gastroenteritis, are transmitted by the faecal–oral route and are passed from person to person by contact, entering...................... read more>>>>

The human skeleton is the internal framework of the body. It is composed of 270 bones at birth – this total decreases to 206 bones by adulthood. Skeletal system comprises of bones, associated cartilages and joints of human body. The skeleton serves six major functions; support, movement, protection, production of blood cells, storage of minerals and endocrine regulation. Here I am providing a list of some facts about human skeleton system.
1. Skeletal system of human is made up of two parts –Axial skeleton and Appendicular skeleton.
2. Axial skeleton makes main axis of body. It is a combination of Skull, Vertebral column and Bones of chest.
3. There are 80 bones in Axial skeleton.
4. In our skull there are 29 bones.
5. In our forehead there are 8 bones which jointly protect our brain.
6. There are 14 bones in our face.
.
7. Our ear is made up of 6 ear ossicles (3 bones in each ear) .
.
8. Human vertebral column is made up of 33 vertebra.
.
9. The first vertebra of vertebral column is called “Atlas”. It holds the skull.
.
10. All vertebra are joined by Intervertebral disk.
.
11. The girdle of the fore limb is called Pectoral girdle.
.
12. The girdle of the hind limb is called Pelvic girdle.
.
13. Forelimb which is jointed with Pectoral girdle is “humerus”.
.
14. Hind limb which is jointed with Pelvic girdle is “femur”.
.
15. There are 206 bones in our body.
.
16. In childhood there is 300 bones in the human body.
.
17. There is 24 bones in our ribs.
.
18. Femur (bone of thigh) is the largest bone of the body.
.
19. Stapes (bone of ear) is the smallest bone of the body.
.
20. Ear bones are Maleus(2), Incus(2) and Stapes(2).
